“Gatsch and Tratsch” is a communal experience that brings sediment from the Danube River into the heart of Vienna. This project encourages urban residents to engage with the natural elements of the river, fostering a deeper connection to the environment and raising awareness of the river’s ecological and cultural significance.
The sediment also serves as a conversation starter, prompting discussions about nature and our relationship with natural resources. This project creates a tangible link between city dwellers and the river, offering an opportunity to explore the texture, color, and composition of a vital part of the river’s ecosystem.
